How to Start
a Perfume Business

Five steps, real startup costs, no store required. Start with one wholesale package, sell at your price, and restock what moves.

Start with one package: test for $150, sell from $420

To start a perfume business as a reseller: pick a US wholesale supplier with a minimum order you can afford, test the product with a $150 Trial Pack or start selling with the 60-bottle Starter Pack at $420, price each bottle at $15–$30, sell through live channels, marketplaces or local spots, and reorder the scents that move. No license or wholesale account is needed to buy from EvoFlow.

Below: the five steps in order, then the real startup-cost table.

From zero to first restock

01

Choose a supplier — and know the minimum order

Your supplier decides your cost per bottle and your restock speed. Look for a US-based wholesale distributor with a minimum order you can afford, published per-bottle pricing, and shipping in days, not weeks. At EvoFlow there is no license, contract, or wholesale account application: resale packages start at 60 bottles, or build your own from 45 bottles at $9 each.

02

Start with a Trial or a Starter — not a pallet

Don't guess with big money. Test the scents first with the Trial Pack (10 bottles, $150, shipping included), or go straight to selling with the Starter Pack (60 bottles, $420 — $7.00 per bottle). One package teaches you what your customers actually buy before you commit to volume.

03

Price each bottle at $15–$30

Inspired fragrances commonly resell for $15–$30 depending on the channel: $15–$20 at a flea market, $25–$30 on social media or in a salon. Against a $4–$7 wholesale cost, that leaves a gross margin on every bottle before your own selling costs. Bundle deals like “3 for $50” move inventory faster and raise your average ticket.

04

Sell where buyers already are

Live selling (Whatnot, TikTok Shop, Instagram Live) is the fastest-moving channel for fragrance — low unit cost, light to ship, easy to present on camera. Marketplaces, flea markets, barbershops and beauty salons all work too. You don't need a store or a website to make your first sales; you need one channel and consistent showing up.

05

Restock the winners, step up a tier

Track which scents sell out first and reorder those. As volume grows, move up the ladder — 100, 200, 400 bottles — and your cost per bottle drops from $7.00 toward $4.00, widening your margin on every sale. Orders ship within 2–4 business days, so a restock never stalls your selling for long.

Questions new sellers ask us

How much does it cost to start a perfume business?

With EvoFlow, testing the product costs $99 (Sampler, 5 bottles) or $150 (Trial Pack, 10 bottles), both with shipping included. Your first sellable inventory is the 60-bottle Starter Pack at $420 ($7.00 per bottle). Pick-your-own starts at $405 (45 bottles × $9). There are no franchise fees, licenses, or account applications to buy — your main startup cost is the inventory itself, plus whatever your sales channel charges (platform fees, a market stall, shipping supplies).

Do I need a license to start selling perfumes?

You don't need a license, contract, or wholesale account to buy from EvoFlow — you order online like any product. Your own obligations (business registration, sales tax, platform rules) depend on where and how you sell, and they apply as with any resale product. If you sell on a platform like TikTok Shop or Whatnot, check that platform's current category and labeling rules before listing.

How many bottles should I start with?

Most new sellers start with one package: 60 bottles (Starter Pack, $420) gives you a mixed men's and women's assortment wide enough to learn what moves, without a big commitment. If you want to choose the scents yourself, pick-your-own starts at 45 bottles ($405). Start bigger only after you know your channel sells — volume is for scaling what's already working.

Where can I sell perfumes?

The channels EvoFlow resellers use most: live selling on Whatnot, TikTok Shop and Instagram Live; online marketplaces; flea markets; and local spots like barbershops and beauty salons. Fragrance fits all of them because it's small, light, doesn't expire quickly, and buyers already know the scent profiles. See our page for live sellers for channel-specific numbers.

How fast can I get inventory and restock?

Orders ship within 2–4 business days from New Jersey, US shipping is included in the package price, and you get tracking. Sell out on Friday and a restock placed right away is typically on its way within the same week — which is why a US-based supplier matters versus importing and waiting weeks.

Are these designer perfumes?

No. EvoFlow sells inspired fragrances — original blends inspired by well-known designer scents, sold under their own product names. They are not produced by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any designer brand. That's the whole model: your customers get a familiar scent profile at $15–$30 instead of $100+, and you buy at $4–$9 per bottle.
